Early Spring Around the Schoolhouse

March is upon us, and already I can see nesting activity starting on our property and in the farm fields surrounding the Schoolhouse. The birds are starting to sing their Spring mating songs.

In the last few days some of our migrators from fall have shown up at the feeders. The Red-winged Blackbirds, with their distinctive calls, are here so real Spring can't be far behind.

We are also seeing our first Winter Aconites blooming under the maple trees.
